International Circulation: At this great wall conference, the ESC-CSC heart rate investigation project called CLARIFY has been initiated. Could you please give us a brief introduction of this project? What are the rationale, design and objective of this project? Roberto Ferrari: This is a project relating outpatients with coronary artery disease and is a registry for the need and how these patients are taken care of. It is a worldwide registry which is aiming to include at least 30,000 patients, and there would be follow-up for 5 years. We realized that in Europe and throughout the world we do not have enough data on the real world care of these patients. We do have data from clinical trials which often target hospitalized patient populations and there are, in the clinical trials, several biases because very often the way a patient is to be treated is pre-specified and we would like to know the truth of treatment. This is also a new strategy of the European Society to provide the real world data.
